Homework is sent home on Fridays (or the last day of the week). Homework is due on the following Thursday.
Homework packets usually consist of the Spelling Words, math and reading skill review sheets, fluency practice and sometimes a writing activity. These packets also have all the news parents need on current events in First Grade.
First Graders are becoming great readers! I hope families can set aside 10 to 15 minutes each night for reading time. Reading time can be spent listening to your child read to you, you can read to your child, or you can take turns reading a page or paragraph. Make it fun! The important thing is for children and adults to enjoy great literature together.
